Health
As a nation, we’re participating in less physical activity than ever before. And we’re getting sicker and heavier because of it. Why?
In 2006, our collective M.O. is: let’s make things easy. As easy as possible. We choose to drive our cars a few blocks, just to avoid walking somewhere. Internet-access computers allow us to do just about everything from our own living room. We can pay bills, do our taxes, buy music, order birthday presents, order food, and even find our future spouse online. What used to be a day full of errands can now be accomplished in 30 minutes on the computer, lifting only a finger to click a mouse.
As a result of this Culture of Convenience, people have gotten lazy. As a nation, we’re participating in less physical activity than ever before. And we’re getting sicker and heavier because of it. Why? We’ll try to find out this week on Pop and Politic Radio’s “Health Show.”
