Kenneth Eng hates black people

Kenneth Eng, a self-proclaimed Asian supremecist, wrote a racist tirade about why he hates black people. The article was published on Feb. 23 in Asian Week — “The Voice of Asian America” — a San Francisco-based news weekly.

When I first heard about it, I thought maybe dude was just writing satirical commentary and everyone just needed to calm down, adjust their panties and look at it jokingly…until I read it. Aside from “God of the Universe” written under his byline, there isn’t anything funny about it — it’s just flat-out blatantly racist. One of his reasons for hating blacks is because, “blacks are weak-willed. They are the only race that has been enslaved for 300 years.” Of course, Eng is now being ostracized and Asian Week is being hung for their lack of responsibility. Somebody’s getting fired…

The news spread this morning after reports of Asian American leaders joining to order Asian Week issue an apology to the black community. The column in question can’t be found on the Asian Week website, however, the short column was scanned and published alongside an article in the San Francisco Chronicle, which you can see below:

The most unsettling thing is, this isn’t the first time they’ve published his unsound and uneducated remarks. Read Proof That Whites Inherently Hate Us and Why I Hate Asians. Hey, at least he’s an equal opportunity hater.

Sad. Kenneth Eng’s views do not reflect the views of all Asian Americans. I don’t understand how the editors of AsianWeek could let an editorial like that slip by. Here’s their official apology:

“AsianWeek sincerely regrets any offense caused by the one opinion piece which reflected that author’s personal views. We apologize for any harm or hurt this has caused the African American community. AsianWeek has great respect for all that the African American community has done for Asian Pacific Americans.

AsianWeek’s operation and editorial policy are based on a philosophy of diversity. This includes fighting to promote diversity of opinion in our own community and even to expose its disturbing warts. It also includes a proven record on promoting cross-cultural diversity and inter-racial interaction. AsianWeek as an organization is proud of its deep and unparalleled history of working with, interacting with, and building connections among all the diverse groups that make up America.”

But, really. There is a big difference between “promoting diversity of opinion” and publishing a racist diatribe …

Kenneth Eng is not aware of the 400 years the Hebrews (Jews) were enslaved by Egyptians. Perhaps he is not aware of the enslavement of the Chinese by the Japanese in the Sino-Japanese wars. Or perhaps he is not aware of the affinity of enlightened people of African and Asian descent as manifested in the rising number of black Buddhists or children of African-Asian descent (Tiger Woods or Kimora Lee Simmons anyone?)
