Rove’s biggest resume builder
Karl Rove, President Bush’s longtime adviser, friend and current deputy chief of staff, announced today that he will step down at the end of the year. Rove says his leaving the White House has nothing to do with the ongoing investigation into the US Attorney firings, nothing to do with the fact that Congress is determined to subpoena him and to retrieve all of his deleted administration emails. He says it has nothing to do with getting out of Washington politics and into a New York consultancy so the Democrats will seem like witch hunters as they go after him nor anything to do with the fact that his president is deeply unpopular and not elgible for reelection.
