With such an eventful week underway at the DNC, it’s been difficult to stay on top of all sides of the news. We each have our preferred television news sources, and most of us just don’t have the time to channel surf for the sake of hearing what the pundits of the other party have to say about the big shebang the Dems are throwing in Denver.
Of all the talking heads I’ve watched this week, Megyn Kelly over at Fox News wins the award for the most creative coverage of a speech that never happened, but if it had happened, then she just might win the award for, I don’t know, living in this dimension of reality. See for yourself here.
We gotta give Kelly kudos for thinking up a fun way to get the conservatives involved in all the exclusive fun this week. From what I can tell, she’s proposing a drinking game—minus all the booze—but every player still gets to act drunk, talk absurdities, put words into other people’s mouths, only to promptly criticize those words for their impropriety. Who’s in?
As the video above shows, Kelly kicked off the game with a response to something Michelle Obama never said in her speech on Monday, but let’s just interchange a couple words, twist it here, tweak it there, spin it a bit, shake, shake, shake, stir, sip, and . . .spit it out like so:
Because she said something—what she said was, and I wrote it down, was, “The world as it is just won’t do.” If you replace “world” with “country,” you’re back to the same debate, arguably, that you have been having about Michelle Obama’s feelings about this country. Did she give her critics any fodder with that comment?
No, Megyn, Michelle Obama didn’t give her critics any fodder with that comment—but you sure did. Now let’s get back to business; who’s up for shots?
