Q-Tip Comes Back With “Gettin’ Up”

Nine years after his last first solo album Amplified, Q-Tip is finally back with a feel-good single “Gettin’ Up.” Check it out:

Sound familiar? If you’re an oldies lover like myself, you probably recognize the sample from seventies band Black Ivory; the song was “You and I.” Q does it justice; so does  the music video.

The former Tribe Called Quest member will be releasing his sophomore solo LP, The Renaissance, on November 4. Artists featured include D’angelo, Raphael Saadiq, and Norah Jones. Sounds like some quality collabos, can’t wait!

I love QTip although I’m not feeling this tune I love the Racoon Hat (like the Fat Boys used to rock) and the thick Run DMC glasses.

    good times . . .
