Fall is almost official which means it’s about to become a goldmine in concerts and record releases for music fans . Here’s a roundup of announced tour dates:
The epic return of AC/DC is bound to be explosive with the highly anticipated album Black Ice (dropping October 20) accompanied by a worldwide tour. And it looks like they are serious. The “Black Ice Tour” begins October 28 in Wilkes-Barre, PA and spans across 20 US dates, wrapping up in mid-December before heading overseas. Catch them at NYC’s Madison Square Garden for two dates (11/2, 11/3); Washington DC on 11/15; Seattle on 11/29; and Los Angeles on 12/6. Ska trumpeters Streetlight Manifesto have announced their “4 Out of 7 in 3 Before 9″ tour. The confusing title translates to the band doing 4 out of the 7 continents in 3 months before 2009. The tour kicks off October 8 in New York and ends December 13 in London. For a whole list of dates, check here. The band is also releasing a project titled “99 Songs of Revolution”—an eight—record compilation of 99 cover songs from different genres. Look out for that in early 2009.
SoCal band Saosin will be on tour with fellow metalcore kids Underoath. The tour (which will include much, much screaming) will start mid-October and run through the end of November. The self-proclaimed “Screamo” (scream + emo) band will also be selling their newly recorded EP The Grey exclusively on tour and at Hurley.com starting October 14. Soulful Louisiana native Marc Broussard is currently on tour, but will team up with piano songstress Sara Bareilles for cross-country trek starting October. Broussard recently dropped his third full-length album Keep Coming Back—a treat for blues, funk, and R&B fans alike. The two singer/songwriters begin in San Diego on October 9 and in Atlantic City on November 7. Don’t sleep on this duo, the Los Angeles date is already sold out!
