McCain to Take Part in Tonight’s Debate Having earlier this week said he would not be attending the debate unless a “$700 billion bailout for US financial institutions” had been reached, McCain has now announced that enough progress has been made regarding the nation’s fiscal maladies, that he will make the trip to Mississippi to verbally engage Obama after all.

Downey’s Water Supply Going Down in Quality After finding coliform bacteria in Downey’s water supplies, Los Angeles city officials have issued a three day boil-water order to the area’s inhabitants scheduled to end late Saturday. The same officials have explained the water is safe enough to shower/bathe in but should not be consumed.

Bailout Talks to Begin Again Any substantive bailout discussions may have come to a standstill yesterday, but McCain feels confident enough to leave Washington for Mississippi (see above), and Bush has announced that both parties will put aside ideological differences for now in order to better pursue economic agreements that could benefit the country.
