		<description>I disagree with Alice slightly, the map wouldn&#039;t have been exactly the same if John Edwards were running.  Edwards didn&#039;t run for the North Carolina Senate seat again because he was pretty sure he couldn&#039;t win.  So I don&#039;t think he would have won his home state if he were the nominee for President.  
Meanwhile Obama does win in NC, and Va, and Flor- all &quot;confederate&quot; states.  And Missouri went for McCain.  This is a great moment for Democrats, and America, because we elected a smart, honest man who happens to be half-black.  And trying to paint us as racially divided only cheapens the moment.</description>

		<description>Just like my voting for Obama had nothing to do with his race, I would be shocked if most of the votes of McCain in the south had anything to do with his race.  It cheapens the electoral process, party system, etc to turn this into &quot;people voting for or against a black man.&quot;
