DENVER — Artist Malcolm Farley painted and displayed a portrait of Barack Obama at a pre-DNC party on Saturday which he told Pop + Politics would be the fourth official poster used by the Illinois senator’s presidential campaign.
The painting was perched at the entrance to the main area of the Elitch Gardens amusement park, where approximately 15,000 journalists who are covering the Democratic National Convention were invited to take in some complimentary roller coaster rides, empanadas, and ice cream.
In between taking pictures with eager onlookers, Farley said that mass-production of his painting would begin on Sunday.
